We, the members of Smyth-Bolter Post 58, aspire to become the premiere veterans’ organization in Tuolumne County through seeking excellence in providing service to our county’s veterans, their families and our community. Through our focus on service and unified commitment to the National Constitution of The American Legion, and coupled with our rich heritage that is steeped in service to our country, we recognize “we” are The American Legion, not just a member of a local post.
Upon this vision of service our mission is to pursue:
- Being an open, honest and transparent organization that utilizes positive communication techniques to enhance and convey our values and goals to our members and the community we serve.
- Strong commitment to training, mentoring and nurturing future leaders from within our organization.
- The recognition of new membership as every member’s responsibility and place strong emphasis on our county’s younger veterans in order to establish the sustainability of our organization.
- Integrating new methods and innovative ideas to better our recruitment efforts, interact with our members, and communicate with our community
- Conformity with the National Constitution of The American Legion, as conveyed through the Officer’s Guide and Manual of Ceremonies.
